Why Hire A Virtual Assistant?

Why would any one hire a virtual assistant?  Why not just hire a regular employee?  Let’s face it, wages and salaries account for 20 percent to 30 percent of business expenses.  Anything that help lower that cost is worth looking into, right?  Of course!  Every business owner wants to cut expenses and improve the bottom line!  Here are some other great reasons to hire a virtual assistant:

  • You only pay me for time on task – no coffee breaks,
    chatting with the office gossip!
  • When you hire a me, you do not need to provide office
    space, equipment, furniture, supplies.
  • My professional development is on my time and
my dime – no need to pay for expensive training,
or loss of production due to travel.
  • I am always available to handle your
seasonal/ peak periods, or special projects.
  • I am self-employed so you don’t have the
burden of employer social security taxes,
    FICA taxes, worker’s compensation insurance,
    and unemployment taxes.
  • Compliance with OSHA regulations, the Federal
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Employee Retirement
Income Security Act (ERISA) is my responsibility – not yours!
  • No medical, dental, and vision care benefits to pay – ever!
  • No vacation, sick, and holiday time to pay.
  • No other employee benefits, such as 401K,
    retirement plans, etc., to pay.
  • You don’t have to pay someone to administer tax,
    benefits, and compliance issues.
  • You don’t have the responsibilities associated
with employee policies on working hours, vacation time,
sick time, leave of absence, holidays, benefits,
    performance reviews, training, etc.

Most importantly, by hiring me, a virtual assistant who is
versatile, professional, and learns quickly, you will always
have an expert at your service!  So keep more of the
money you make and still have a professional at your service!

Save Money on Salaries and Taxes by Hiring Virtually

A U.S. Department of Labor press release in March 2014, shows that benefits account for 29.9 percent of labor costs in the private sector.  That means, if you pay an administrative assistant $15.00 per hour, you can expect to add another $6.40 per hour in benefits.  That makes the labor costs for you administrative assistant $21.40 per hour!  That’s just labor costs – so it does not include expenses such as computers, printers, and supplies!  The chart below shows the cost of labor by wages and benefits as of December 2013.Image

If you hire a temporary worker during vacations, extended sick leave, or to handle seasonal increases in business, your labor costs include going through the recruiting process, training the temp (any time you hire if you do not have a person dedicated to your business), processing time cards and/or invoices, and paying the mark-up costs of the staffing firm.
